Billing > Patient Statements > Select Charges > System Validates CPT Codes > Block if Inactive CPT Detected
What’s New
- The system prevents statement creation for a specific CPT if it is marked as inactive
- Validation applies regardless of when the CPT became inactive (at or after charge creation).
- Real-time validation checks CPT status during statement generation.
- A banner message is displayed when inactive CPT codes are detected.
- Statement generation remains restricted until the issue is resolved (reactivating CPT or removing the charge).
How It Works
- Navigate to the Patient Statement generation screen.
- Select charges for statement generation.
- The system evaluates all associated CPT codes.
- If any CPT code is inactive:
– Statement generation is blocked.
– A banner message is displayed:
“Inactive CPT codes associated with this charge will not be included or printed on the statement.”
- The user must resolve the issue by reactivating the CPT or excluding the affected charge.
- Once all CPT codes are active, statement generation proceeds successfully.
