What is a Walk Away Bill?
This report is designed to act as a receipt for a patient. The report can only be generated if an appointment has at least been checked-in. The system does not allow users to print patient statements when patient balance is nil. The ‘Walk Away Bill’ should provide a user with the ability to provide patients with a receipt, walk away bill, or statement once they have paid off their balance.
Follow the workflow above to land on the ‘Walk Away Bill’ screen. Users can search for a patient by one of the following methods:
- Use the patient information fields and enter personal identification information (not all the fields need to be filled completely) to search for a patient.
- Use the ‘Patient Hot List’ to search from a list of a user’s 15 most recently accessed patients.
- Use the Appointment Information fields in the Appointment section to look for multiple patients within a specific appointment date range, at a specific location, or under a specific Provider.
After clicking ‘Search’ regardless of the method. The system will bring the user to a page that contains a list of all patients that fit within the specified search parameters. The outstanding balances highlight in red.
To include all patients on the report, user can click the ‘All’ icon; to include only specific patients on the report, select the box next to the desired patient(s) and click the ‘Selected’ icon.
