What is Meant By Referral Number?
Patient > Registration > Referrals > Incoming/Outgoing
Some insurances require a referral number for billing purposes. A referral number is provided by the insurance company with either of the following conditions:
- A time limit
- A limit on the number of visits
- A combination of both options
These details are recorded in the ‘Authorization’ section of the referrals.
Users can either enter Referral # or PAN (Pre-Authorization Number), based on what is required by the insurance company.
NOTE:
Some Insurance companies require an authorization for referrals. This can be documented in the Add Incoming (or Outgoing) Referrals tab under Registration
