What is the Purpose of EPSDT & Family Planning Option?
Billing > Professional > Charges > Search > Appointment
User is provided with the modified EPSDT Reference Codes for Procedures on Charge screen. The Family Planning option is available on this screen according to which the 24H of HCFA form is filled. Furthermore, the system is enabled to detect Medicaid plans and fill 24H of HCFA form respectively to avoid claim rejection.
On the Charges screen expand the Procedure option under Diagnosis & Procedure section and enable the EPSDT Service and Family Planning checkboxes.
Upon enabling the EPSDT Service checkbox, the EPSDT Ref. Code dropdown gets active. User can select from the following options in this dropdown:
- AV. Patient Refused Referral
- NU. Not Used
- S2. Under Treatment
- ST. New Services Requested
Once done, click on the Save button from the top in order to apply the desired changes.
