Have ICD – 9 Codes Been Removed from the CureMD Application?

Patient > Clinical > Diagnoses

The ICD – 9 coding system has been replaced by the ICD – 10 system in all workflows in the CureMD application. The ICD – 9 system has been in effect since 1979 but it no longer serves the needs of future healthcare systems. This system has become obsolete since October 2015 and most developed countries have already shifted to ICD- 10 code sets.

Some major areas in the application where ICD – 9 codes have been removed are:

  • Billing and Reports
  • Clinical Components
  • Oncology
  • Settings
  • Scheduler

ICD – 9 removal is reflected on the diagnosis page. Only the ICD – 10 column is visible while adding/searching/viewing a diagnoses. ICD – 9 codes have been removed from all tabs of the diagnosis screen.

Current Diagnosis

Similarly, only the ICD-10 column is displayed while adding a diagnosis.
