CMS130v6 – Colorectal Cancer Screening

Colorectal Cancer Screening CMS130v6 Percentage of adults 50-75 years of age who had appropriate screening for colorectal cancer.
– DENOMINATOR

All patients aged 50-75 years with a visit during the measurement period.

– DENOMINATOR EXCLUSION

All patients with a diagnosis or past history of total colectomy or colorectal cancer.

– NUMERATOR

Patients with one or more screenings for colorectal cancer.

Appropriate screenings are defined by any one of the following criteria below:

  1. Fecal occult blood test (FOBT) during the measurement period.
  2. Flexible sigmoidoscopy during the measurement period or the four years prior to the measurement period.(total: 5 years – 4 years before the measurement period starts AND the measurement period as well)
  3. Colonoscopy during the measurement period or the nine years prior to the measurement period.(total: 10 years – 9 years before the measurement period starts AND the measurement period as well)
– APPLICATION WORKFLOW

For Denominator:
The patient of age 50-75 with a visit in measurement year is considered for this measure. To record a visit, navigate to Patient > Provider Note > eSuperbill

Colonoscopy Patient > Clinical > Evaluations

For Numerator:
Patients with one or more of the following screenings for colorectal cancer are included in the numerator:

  • Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT) ”'(Patient > Clinical > Orders and Results > Labs)”’
  • Flexible Sigmoidoscopy Patient > Clinical > Evaluations

Exclusions:

If the patient has a diagnosis or past history of total colectomy or colorectal cancer then he can no longer be a part of this measure. In order to document this, navigate to Patient > Clinical > Evaluations
