What is CLIA?

Some of the insurances demand practices to report CLIA number in claims if the TOS of any of the procedures is ‘5 – Diagnostic Laboratory –Total Component’. For all such insurances CLIA checkbox should be checked under plan profile. And for procedures performed in the laboratory, user can set TOS to ‘5 – Diagnostic Laboratory – Total Component’ under procedure profile.

The application gives an alert on charges page to enter CLIA number if CLIA checkbox is checked under plan profile and TOS for any one of the procedures entered in the charge is ‘5 – Diagnostic Laboratory – Total Component’ and if the user has not entered CLIA number. A user can however ignore the message and save the charge but it may lead towards the rejection of claim. If CLIA is entered in the location profile then application automatically loads the CLIA in aforementioned scenario.
