What’s New
- BMI percentile calculation is now available for patients aged 2 to 19 years.
- BMI percentile is displayed alongside BMI in the Vitals module.
- A pediatric obesity classification is automatically assigned based on the calculated percentile value relative to the 95th percentile.
- The following Weight Status classifications are supported:
- Pediatric Obesity – Class 1 (95% to less than 120% of the 95th percentile)
- Pediatric Obesity – Class 2 (120% to less than 140% of the 95th percentile)
- Pediatric Obesity – Class 3 (140% or greater of the 95th percentile)
- Calculated percentile and classification are stored with the vitals record.
- SOAP notes now include:
- BMI
- BMI percentile representation
- Pediatric obesity classification
- Associated vitals measurements included in the vitals summary.
How It Works
- Navigate to Patient > Clinical > Vitals.
- Enter height and weight for a patient between the ages of 2 and 19 years.
- The system calculates BMI and determines the corresponding BMI percentile using age-specific benchmarks.
- The calculated percentile is displayed alongside the BMI value.
- The system automatically assigns a Weight Status classification based on the calculated percentile value.
- Save the vitals record; the BMI percentile and classification are stored in the patient chart.
- Generate a SOAP note for the encounter.
- The SOAP note vitals summary automatically includes the BMI, percentile representation, pediatric obesity classification, and other recorded vital measurements.
