Display Claim Data in POTF When Responsible Plan Is None/Patient
What’s New
-
The Proof of Timely Filing (POTF) report now retrieves claim data when the Responsible Plan is set to None/Patient.
-
Claim data is sourced from the most recently generated claim or HCFA for the appointment when no active responsible plan exists.
-
Existing behavior remains unchanged when a Responsible Plan is active.
-
Key claim-level details are always included in the POTF report regardless of post-submission plan changes.
How It Works
-
Navigate to Reports > Proof of Timely Filing (POTF).
-
Select the required appointment and generate the POTF report.
-
The system evaluates the appointment’s Responsible Plan.
-
If the Responsible Plan is set to None/Patient, the system retrieves claim data from the most recently generated claim or HCFA associated with the appointment.
-
If the Responsible Plan is active, the system retrieves claim data for the current responsible plan.
-
The POTF report displays complete claim information based on the applicable scenario.
Benefits
-
Enables generation of valid proof of timely filing for appeals.
-
Prevents loss of previously submitted claim data after plan changes.
-
Supports denial and appeal workflows without interruption.
-
Reduces billing staff rework caused by missing report data.
-
Improves reliability and consistency of the POTF report.
