Ability to Add Expected Date in Procedures

Patient > Clinical > Orders and Results > Procedure

When the user adds a procedure within the Procedures component, an “Expected Date” field becomes available. By default, the “Today” option is selected, which records the current date. If the user selects the “Future” option, additional controls appear, allowing them to pick a specific date from a calendar or choose intervals such as 1 Week, 2 Weeks, 1 Month, 3 Months, or 6 Months. This selection auto-populates the date field, simplifying the entry of anticipated dates.

Upon saving the procedure, any future date chosen in this field is displayed within the SOAP note, formatted as “(Expected Date: DD/MM/YYYY).” When generating an eSuperbill, only procedures expected on the current or past dates appear. For procedures with mixed dates within the same order, only those with today’s or past dates reflect on the eSuperbill, while an alert informs the user of tests excluded due to future dates. This functionality ensures that records accurately represent the intended dates for each procedure, streamlining both documentation and billing workflows.
