How to View Institutional Charges for a Patient?

Billing > Professional > Charges > Custom Views

Navigate to “Today’s Unbilled” page by following the above mentioned workflow. Once there, select an ‘Appointment’ and click on ‘Enter Institutional Charges’ to view the charge.

The user can view Institutional Charge for every appointment.

In some cases, someone other than the provider renders services but the system does not send their information in the claim as the Rendering Provider’s information because they are not registered with the insurances.

In such cases, system sends Billing Provider’s information, in the claim as the Rendering Provider. For this, User can mark the ‘Billing’ checkbox on the institutional charge page. By marking this checkbox, system sends the Billing Provider’s information as the Rendering Provider in the claim. However, this does not change the information of the Scheduler so that the original information of the Rendering Provider remains as it is.

Click on ‘Save’ to save changes. Doing so populates the Billing Provider’s information in the claim when it is printed.

The charges for the appointments being displayed in “Today’s Unbilled” screen are not yet created and hence they don’t have a responsible plan. In order to solve this problem, the column name ‘Responsible Plan’ is changed to ‘Plan’.

Today’s Unbilled

Users can bill for accommodation services through institutional charges. The application maintains a library including all Accommodation Revenue Codes.

The HCPCS CPT code for a line item is not populated on claims if the Accommodation Revenue Code is found in it.

Moreover, the Unit Type for line items with an Accommodation Revenue Code is changed to DA (Days).
