Release a Claim from Hold

Claims Management > On Hold Claims / Charge Page / Claim Status > Release Claim

What’s Newnew_symbol-1

  • A new Released Claims tab is available alongside On Hold Claims and Advanced Search.
  • The Released Claims listing displays key claim information, including:
    – Appointment
    – Patient
    – Responsible Plan
    – Provider/Resource
    – Balance
    – Eligibility
  • Claims are added to the Released Claims queue when:
    – A claim’s status changes from On Hold to a non-hold status through the Charge page.
    – A charge is released from hold through the On Hold page.
    – The On Hold flag is disabled from Claim Status.
  • Claims are removed from the Released Claims queue when:
    – The charge is present in the Pending or On Hold tab of the Problem List.
    – A supported payment-related activity, such as a denial or write-off, is applied.
    – A claim is submitted against the charge.
  • Advanced Search is available for both On Hold Claims and Released Claims and applies only to the selected tab.
  • The Released Claims tab remains visible while users are working within the Released Claims listing.
  • When users navigate to another page using an action button or link from the On Hold listing, the Released Claims tab is hidden on the destination page.

How It Works

  • Navigate to Claims Management > On Hold Claims.
  • Select the Released Claims tab to view claims that have been released from hold.
  • Review the claim information displayed in the Released Claims listing.
  • Use Advanced Search to locate specific claims within the Released Claims queue.
  • When a qualifying claim is released from hold, it is added to the Released Claims queue.
  • When a qualifying payment activity, claim submission, or Problem List status removes the claim from the applicable workflow, the claim is removed from Released Claims.

Benefits

  • Provides a centralized queue for claims released from hold that still require follow-up.
  • Reduces reliance on external Excel spreadsheets for tracking released claims.
  • Improves visibility into claims requiring additional billing action.
  • Reduces the risk of released claims being overlooked or delayed.
  • Supports more efficient follow-up through tab-specific Advanced Search.
