Synchronized Total Dose Behavior and Override Support for Custom and Trial Unit Dose Drugs in Chemotherapy Manager

Chemotherapy Manager > Draft Plan > Add Unit Dose Drug (Custom or Trial) > Click Total Dose Hyperlink > Override Dose > Save

What’s Newnew_symbol-1

  • Synchronized total dose behavior: Total dose behavior for Custom and Trial Drugs is now fully synchronized with normal drugs, ensuring consistent functionality across all drug types.
  • Total dose override support: Custom and trial drugs configured with unit-based dosing now support overriding the calculated total dose.
  • The system-calculated total dose appears as a clickable hyperlink in draft chemotherapy plans.
  • Providers can override the calculated total dose and optionally enter or select a reason for the override.
  • The originally prescribed unit dose remains unchanged.
  • Overridden doses are clearly reflected in reports and audit logs.
  • Flat dose drugs remain non-editable and do not display a clickable total dose.

How It Works

  1. Open a draft chemotherapy plan in Chemotherapy Manager.

  2. Add either a custom drug or a trial drug configured with unit-based dosing (e.g., mg/m²).
  3. The system automatically calculates the total dose.
  4. The calculated total dose appears as a clickable hyperlink.
  5. Click the hyperlink to override the total dose.
  6. Enter or select a reason for the override (optional).
  7. Save the draft plan.

custom1-1

If a total dose is overridden:

  • The originally ordered unit dose (e.g., mg/m²) remains unchanged as prescribed by the physician.

  • “Dose Overridden by Physician” text appears next to the total dose.

  • The Chemo plan report clearly reflects that the dose has been overridden.

  • The drug details screen logs the complete override transaction for audit and traceability purposes.

This functionality applies only to non-flat unit dose configurations.
