DENOMINATOR

All patient visits for those patients aged 6 through 17 years with a diagnosis of major depressive disorder.

In this case, a qualifying visit includes any of the following:

  • Office Visit
  • Outpatient Consultation
  • Psych Visit Diagnostic Evaluation
  • Psych Visit for Family Psychotherapy
  • Psych Visit Psychotherapy
  • Psychoanalysis
  • Group Psychotherapy
  • Telehealth Services

Note: The major depressive disorder (MDD) diagnosis must take placing during one of these visits.

NUMERATOR

Patient visits with an assessment for suicide risk.

Note: The suicide risk assessment must happen during an encounter for Major Depressive Disorder.

 APPLICATION WORKFLOW

For Denominator:

  • To record an encounter, navigate to Patient > Provider Notes > Create Superbill. Under the ‘Procedure- CPTs’ heading, enter the encounter code.

  • For documentation of MDD diagnosis, use the workflow Patient > Provider Notes > Diagnoses. Click ‘Add’ and search for the relevant diagnosis. Fill out any details that are needed and once done, click ‘Save’.

For Numerator:

  • Documentation of suicide risk assessment can be done via Patient > Provider Notes > Evaluations. Here, search for ‘Suicide Risk Assessment (Procedure)’ and from the ‘Status’ drop down, select Performed. Once done, click ‘Save & Accept’ or ‘Sign & Accept’.
