HIV Screening CMS349v2 Percentage of patients 15-65 years of age who have been tested for HIV within that age range
– DENOMINATOR: 

Patients 15 to 65 years of age who had an outpatient visit during the measurement period.

– DENOMINATOR EXCLUSION:

Patients diagnosed with HIV prior to the start of the measurement period.

– NUMERATOR

Patients with documentation of an HIV test between age 15-65 before the end of the measurement period.

– APPLICATION WORKFLOW

For Denominator:

Patients 15 to 65 years of age who had an outpatient visit during the measurement period are included in the denominator of this measure. To record any of the below mentioned visit, navigate to Patient > Provider Note > eSuperbill. 

  • Preventive Care Services, Initial Office Visit, 0 to 17
  • Preventive Care Services-Initial Office Visit, 18 and Up
  • Preventive Care, Established Office Visit, 0 to 17
  • Preventive Care Services – Established Office Visit, 18 and Up
  • Office Visit

For Numerator:

All patients with documentation of an HIV test and aged between 15-65 before the end of the measurement period are included in numerator. To add a lab test follow Patient > Clinical > Order and Results > Labs.

  • HIV 1 and 2 tests – Meaningful Use set
